Men's IT = EU. Women's IT = EU + 4 (EU 36 = IT 40). French brands print FR = EU + 2 for women (EU 36 = FR 38); for menswear FR = EU.

Reading numeric size codes — some houses print a number instead of a letter:

How to measure

Chest / Bust — Around the fullest part of your chest, tape horizontal and level across the back.

Waist — Around the narrowest point of your natural waist, just above the navel.

Hips — Feet together. Around the fullest part of your hips and seat.

Inseam — From the crotch seam down the inside of the leg to the ankle.

Foot length — Stand on paper, trace your foot, measure heel to longest toe in cm.

Hand — Around the fullest part of your palm, excluding the thumb, for glove sizing.
